I'll stamp all over 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to publicize next month's boxing match.

Former twice world title holder Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge disparity - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Attitude

"I plan to injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather attacked former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual face-off, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually happening.
